SandBlast2010 was moved from Saturday 27th March to the next day because of intermittent rain. Sunday turned out to be a great comp day with all having fun on the incredible Betty's Bay dunes. The results were (A) BoarderX 1.Dave 2.Tynan 3.Rob Baird (B) Slalom 1.Charl Terblanche 2.Tynan 3.Lee (C) Big Air 1.Lee 2.Tynan 3.Charl. Tynan was the overall winner of the competion. Thanks to sponsors Africa Travel Ltd, Ocean Minded, Red Bull and Sidewinder Sandboards. The great pics were taken by Tessa Bredenkamp.   The first decent snow of the 2009 season fell on the Matroosberg in the last week of June, see snow pic labelled Matroos, some more boardable snow fell on the upper regions during mid July, so expect good boarding conditions until late September.   Sand Slam which took place on 29/11/2008 at Betty's Bay started just after 11h00 and finished 45 minutes before the rain reached the dunes at 15h15. We thank the organisers / weathe r watchers for their good advice and timely actions. The placings were Slalom 1st Dave, 2nd Vernon 3 rd Liam, Drag Race 1st Vernon (Overall winner), 2nd Morne, 3rd Livio, Big Air 1st Lee, 2nd Kevin, 3r d Dave. The before and after parties were epic and resulted in the guys being beat by Karen and Tess a uncountable times at the pool tables.
